UV Leak Detection - Ultraviolet Leak Detection
UV (ultraviolet) light sources such as flashlights or pen lights are perfect for leak detection in AC (air conditioning) and coolant systems to detect dyes that are injected into the system and fluoresce when exposed to ultra-violet light.
Maxxeon offers two UV light sources, a handy penlight-style light that fits in your pocket, and a high output light designed for technicians that need the ultimate performance in a compact and light weight package.

The new WorkStar 224 UV penlight (pen light) is up to 10 times brighter than ordinary UV penlights thanks to a unique high performance UV LED. With this LED's intense ultraviolet light you can clearly see refrigerant and coolant dye leaks, fluorescent strips imbedded in currency, urine, fluorescent hand stamps, body fluids, any fluorescent material intended for "blacklights" and even scorpions.
This compact, 6" inspection light weighs only an ounce and clips easily and comfortably into any pocket - always at the ready!
The rugged WorkStar 224 is one tough tool designed for technicians for daily use in demanding shop, manufacturing or maintenance environments. The tough T6 aluminum body has Type II anodizing and is virtually indestructible. The anodizing is a bright shade of violet, so it is easily identified. Knurled surfaces provide good grip and look smart. Threaded joints have rubber O-ring seals, so it is water resistant. The rugged tailcap switch is rated at 100,000 cycles and is sealed to avoid contamination by dirt and grit. Comes complete with 3 AAAA batteries. One year warranty.
